Code of ethics is a set of principles and values that govern the conduct of members of a profession while they are engaged in the enactment of that profession. In community interpreting, there are 8 ethical principles:
- Confidentiality
- Accuracy
- Impartiality
- Transparency
- Direct communication
- Professional boundaries
- Intercultural communication
- Professional conduct
All professional, trained interpreters are required to follow the Code of Ethics on the job. To learn more about them, join us for The Community Interpreter International training.
